New Orleans Washington Artillery

Here are some pics of a Washington Artillery piece and the newly remounted Confederate artillery. The Washington Artillery battery is the element with the flag and consists of a mixture of Foundry, Dixon and Redoubt miniatures. The gun is a Foundry 6-pounder. The other miniatures are mainly Old Glory. The guns are not attached to the elements so that any element can crew any gun.

Here is the Washington Artillery flag I created. It is copied from an original on display in a confederate museum.

More 28MM ACW

Well, the ACW miniatures that i sent off to Sri Lanka successfully arrived there last week (yay!). They should be arriving back here at my house in early August...man, I cannot wait! Gonna be playing some Black Powder and having some fun!

While looking at the miniatures I already have painted myself, I realized that I was short on Confederate command elements. So, I decided to paint up three of such elements. The miniatures are actually a mix of Old Glory series 1 and series 2, Foundry and Redoubt. The Confederate battle flags are a graphic I got off the web several years ago...cannot even recall where...and, I think they're pretty awesome. The Texas flag is made by me (and available on this blog in an earlier post).

10MM Rebels

I am going to paint some Confederate units for playing Zouave with the gang (Bob is doing some Yankees). We hops we can play at the end of summer. Anyway, here is one stand of 10MM rebs. the figures are Old Glory 10MM. Yes, I suck at model soldier photography.

Rebel Army Command

Here is the Army Command for my Confederate Army. Yep, that's Marse Robert in the middle, asking for his field glasses...but I am just thinking of him as a generic corps commander, hence the generic corps flag. Having a miniature of Grant and of Lee simply has few uses on the tabletop...but, I got the minis at an unbelievably excellent price.

The First Cornfield

Ok, had some time to spend today making cornfields...and...my first cornfield is pictured below. The cornfield shown is made up of nine tiles of corn, each with 15 stalks.

These tiles differ from the prototype (shown in an earlier post) in that they are a little wider, with 3/4" between the rows...and...the stalks are a more appropriate height (a little shorter).

Well, gotta make more, I cut out a ton of tiles...I like seeing cornfields on a Civil War battlefield! Let me know what you think of the corn!!!

Zouaves!

Here are the first three stands of some zouaves. I gave them a neutral flag so that I play them on either side. The miniatures are Redoubt (and fit in very well with the other miniatures in the collection).

Rebel Regiment

Just posting a picture of some rebel troops. I have artillery for both sides as well, but I don't think that I am going to paint up any cavalry for either army. Miniatures are Old Glory.
